APHRODI′TE (Aphroditê), one of the great Olympian divinities, was, according to the popular and poetical notions of the Greeks, the goddess of love and beauty. Some traditions stated that she had sprung from the foam (aphros) of the sea, which had gathered around the mutilated parts of Uranus, that had been thrown into the sea by Kronos after he had unmanned his father.

URANUS Uranus was the primal Greek god personifying the sky. His name in Roman mythology was Caelus. In Ancient Greek literature, Uranus or Father Sky was the son and husband of Gaia, Mother Earth. Uranus and Gaia were the parents of the first generation of Titans, and the ancestors of most of the Greek gods, but no cult addressed directly to Uranus survived into Classical times. Elemental Earth, Sky, and Styx might be joined, however, in a solemn invocation in Homeric epic.

Cyclops, Casey Love. The Cyclops were represented as strong, one-eyed giants in Greek mythology, the sons of Uranus and Gaia/Ge, named Argos, Steropes, and Brontes. When the Titan Cronus decided to overthrow his father, the Cyclops helped. But they were no better off with Cronus than Uranus. Instead of rewarding them for their assistance, Cronus imprisoned them in Tartarus.

Gaia ~ Nurturing “Earth Mother, Mother Goddess, Great Goddess, Terra Mater… and Gaia. In the Greek pantheon, this magnificent being was Earth personified as a goddess. Daughter of Chaos, she was the mother and wife of Uranus (heaven). It is her body that we walk upon ever day, and the substance of our own bodies is the substance of hers. It is from Gaia that we receive everything we need for survival, which she provides for us abundantly, nurturing our body, mind and soul. She nurtures our...

Alecto ("the implacable or unceasing anger") is one of the Erinyes, or Furies, in Greek mythology. According to Hesiod, she was the daughter of Gaea fertilized by the blood spilled from Uranus when Cronus castrated him. She is the sister of Tisiphone (Vengeance) and Megaera (Jealousy).

Gaia is the personification of the Earth and one of the Greek primordial deities. Gaia is the ancestral mother of all life. She is the mother of Uranus (the sky), from whose sexual union she bore the Titans (themselves parents of many of the Olympian gods), the Cyclopes, and the Giants; of Pontus (the sea), from whose union she bore the primordial sea gods.

Scorpio Moon
If you were to think of each sign as a country, Scorpio teaches us about POWER & TRUST. Can we trust the one next to us? Can we trust them with our lives? Nothing like being in a dangerous situation to know who you can count on. There lies the kink in the power dance. So with the brooding that accompanies Scorpio, what could be rising is our fear of our powerlessness in the face of the more profound mysteries of life (another Scorpio area.)
